Entering February, we see a large increase in new executive roles being allocated this week in the forex, crypto and fintech industries, despite the redundancies in the market. Let’s review the executives that have taken on new roles and challenges in our executive moves roundup of the week.

Trade.com Hires Michalis Tsaousellis as Chief Dealer

Trade Capital Markets (TCM) Limited has hired Michalis Tsaousellis as the Chief Dealer. Based in Cyprus, he is in charge of managing the company’s trading team, developing and introducing new products, and optimizing the product development process. Further, he will oversee and analyze traded market risk activities.

According to his Linkedin profile, he joined the Trade.com operator from an unnamed forex broker, where he worked for a year as the Chief Dealer. Prior to that, he was a Senior Dealer at the Cyprus offices of FXPRIMUS for about five years.

Two Directors Resign from Trading 212’s Boards

Trading 212 experienced some
changes to the Board as two directors stepped down recently. The Directors are
Rajvinder Kaur Somal and Borislav Tzonkov Nedialkov.

According to the company’s UK Companies
House filings, the directors’ appointments terminated last Thursday
(January 26th). Trading 212 told Finance Magnates on
Friday that while Somal resigned due to a new career opportunity, Nedialkov
only resigned from the Board of Trading 212 UK, the company’s subsidiary in the
United Kingdom, in order to “better focus on Group-wide activities.”

Titan FX MD Martin St-Hilaire Becomes a VFSC Member

The Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC) has appointed Martin St-Hilaire as a member. According to Vanuatu’s Official Gazette of 2023, his appointment was made as he is “a person of with previous knowledge and experience of financial businesses.”

Indeed, St-Hilaire brings more than two decades of experience to his role as the regulator. He will continue to be the Managing Director of Titan FX, which is a position he took over in October 2018. Additionally, he is an audit specialist and has worked with two big four audit firms, Delloite and KPMG.

HF Markets’ Andreas Andreou Joins BDSwiss in Cyprus as CCO

Andreas Andreou has been hired by BDSwiss as its new Chief Commercial Officer in Cyprus.

Andreou brings over two decades of experience to the new position and announced his new role on Wednesday on LinkedIn. The executive left HF Markets last month after a year and three
months in a role based in Dubai. However, he has been in HF Markets, which rebranded from HotForex in May last year, for much longer.

Andreou joined HF Markets in October 2014 as the Global Office Liaison
Executive in Cyprus and became the Head of Business Development in about six
years. He retained the executive post for over a year and a half before joining the
broker’s Dubai office in the same capacity.

Israel’s Fluent Trade Technologies Hires Søren Dalby as FX Product Head

Fluent Trade Technologies has onboarded Søren Stougaard Dalby as the new Head of FX Product. According to his Linkedin profile, he is located in Denmark and will work remotely for the Israeli company.

Fluent Trade Technologies was established in 2011. It offers turn-key solutions for automated trading systems and brokers. The company is certified with over 100 FX trading venues representing over 95% of FX liquidity.

Mohamad Ibrahim Joins Dubai Offices of XS.com as Group CEO

Mohamad Ibrahim has joined XS.com as the Group’s Chief Executive Officer. He is based out of Dubai but will share his time in the global offices of the online broker.

XS.com provides counterparty trading services to retail traders and has liquidity, technology, and other white-label offerings for institutions. The company was originally established in Australia in 2010 but is now headquartered in Cyprus. It offers brokerage services with licenses in Australia, Cyprus, and Seychelles.

iS Prime Co-Founders Sitlani and Brewer Depart Business after 8 Years

Raj Sitlani and Jonathan Brewer have
decided to say goodbye to their business after eight years.

The decision comes two weeks after ISAM Capital Markets rebranded to iSAM Securities to position itself as a high-level institutional brand. The Co-Founders
started iSPrime in 2014 in partnership with iSAM, a systematic hedge fund
manager.

Rob Harding to Leave De La Rue for PayPoint as CFO

PayPoint (LON: PAY) announced on Tuesday its appointment of Rob Harding as the new Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director. He will join the company “later this summer,” and replaces Alan Dale, who will retire later this year.

Dale will step down from PayPoint’s Board after the publication of the company’s results but will continue to be an employee of the firm until the end of December to ensure a thorough transition and handover. The transition will happen when PayPoint focuses on the UK market. Further, it decided to acquire the entirety of Appreciate Group, a gifting and engagement company, in an £83 million deal.

Eightcap Replaces Joel Murphy with Alex Howard as CEO

Eightcap has recruited Alex Howard as the new CEO. He replaces Joel Murphy, who has now taken on the responsibilities of Non-Executive Chairman at the broker.

Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, Eightcap offers retail counterparty trading with forex and instruments of other asset classes. Additionally, the platform expanded its offerings and added more than 250 cryptocurrency CFDs. It operates globally with regulatory licenses in four jurisdictions: Australia, the United Kingdom, The Bahamas and Cyprus.

FX Veteran Fred Scala Joins Direct Trading Technologies as B2B Sales MD

Fred Scala has joined the brokerage Direct Trading Technologies as its Managing Director. He is in charge of business-to-business (B2B) sales.

Direct Trading Technologies offers online brokerage services, including trading with currencies, contracts for differences (CFDs), and commodities trading. In addition, it operates globally with licenses from the United Kingdom, Lithuania, the United Arab Emirates, Panama, and Vanuatu.

In addition, Scala will be in charge of the sales of FX and crypto white-label solutions, institutional liquidity streams and a CRM solution.

Ripple has promoted a long-time serving employee Monica Long to be its new President. She has worked for the blockchain-based payments company for the last ten years. The promotion came when the blockchain company expanded in liquidity, settlement, and custody areas.

Anthony Darvall Leaves easyMarkets after 15 Years, Launches Startup

Anthony Darvall has departed the forex trading company, easyMarkets, after almost 15 years of service to
launch a web 3.0 fintech startup firm called Traderflow.

Darvall announced his new role as the Founder of Traderflow on
Friday on LinkedIn. The development comes a few weeks after Ohad Golan quit his role as the Chief
Marketing Officer of easyMarkets four years after joining the broker’s Limassol office.
