Economist Peter Schiff, who is a crypto Skeptic has created an NFT Ordinals art collection on Bitcoin and there will be an auction to be announced soon. The community’s reaction to the news was varied with some baffled and welcoming reactions, others highlighted it as hypocrisy. For years Schiff has censured crypto and Bitcoin, he always had a pessimistic opinion of crypto, he estimated that Bitcoin is a “Ponzi-Scheme” which means it has no inherent value. Schiff unveiled the “Golden Triumph” collection from his favorite artist via Twitter on May 27.

This week, wealth management firm Schiff Gold, led by American businessman and investor Peter Schiff, announced the launch of “Schiffonaries,” a limited-edition art collection featuring a series of Bitcoin-inspired portraiture and illustrations. The collection will feature portraits of iconic cryptocurrency pioneers such as Satoshi Nakamoto, Hal Finney, and Andreas Antonopoulos, as well as prominent figures in the traditional financial space such as Warren Buffett and Peter Schiff.

The company says the purpose of the collection is to “bring awareness to the power of Bitcoin and to help cultivate the budding crypto art genre.” The cryptocurrency-inspired collection is unique and rare in that the portraits and illustrations will be printed on individual metal plates, making each artwork a physical part of the Bitcoin network. The metal plates used to print the artwork are engraved with a special Bitcoin public address. The first shipment of “Schiffonaries” is set to release in the coming weeks, with each production run being made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

According to Schiff Gold also, for each production run, a portion of the profits will be donated to charity. This will include contributions to charities addressing the growing global financial divide, supporting studies into the future of blockchain technology and aiding the development of blockchain-based decentralised applications.

This collection is a significant step in creating awareness around the power of Bitcoin and the potential of blockchain technology. It is hoped that this collection will represent a lasting statement of support for cryptocurrency and the development of the crypto art world.
