It has been reported that a new owner of an iconic waterfront home, once owned by actress Kirstie Alley, has been found in Florida’s Gulf Coast.

The 8,100-square-foot beachfront home, located in Longboat Key near Sarasota, Florida, was put on the market in October 2018 as a $6.5 million listing. After nearly seven months on the market with several price drops, it has now been purchased for $4.25 million.

The Mediterranean-style five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home was built in 1989 and had an attractive yet simple interior. The grand main suite takes up most of the second floor, with its fireplace and large sitting area. The kitchen area is spacious and leads to an outdoor terrace that overlooks the waterfront.

The high ceilings, skylights, and two-story living room with bay windows provides a lot of natural light to this unique home. It also has a three-car garage and a brick driveway that leads down to a private dock.

The new owners acquired a property with a rich celebrity history; Kirstie Alley had owned the place from 1997 to 2008. She first listed the property in 2003 for $9 million and reduced the price three times until it finally sold for $4.25 million.

It seems that the latest buyers have managed to pick up a piece of celebrity history at a bargain. As the real estate market in Longboat Key is becoming increasingly competitive, it will be interesting to see who will be the next celebrity owner of this special property.
