Kat Von D, the renowned tattoo artist, television star, and cosmetics mogul, recently sold her gothic-style mansion in Los Angeles for a whopping $7.75M.

The home, built in 1924 and surrounded by lush greenery, is as stunning as it is unique and has been the subject of significant media attention over the past few years. The interior of the house features a blood-red pool in the shape of a cross, along with marble countertops, huge fireplaces, and original stained glass windows.

Von D purchased the mansion in 2007 for a fraction of its current selling price, and over the ensuing years, she updated the property extensively. There were renovations done to every room, including the construction of the highly impressive blood-red pool.

Kat maintained that the red pool was, in a way, a symbol of her own journey. She is quoted as saying that the “vibrant energized meditative atmosphere” provided by the pool reminded her of what she has been able to achieve in her own personal life and career.

The mansion was eventually listed for sale through Compass Real Estate in May 2018 and, though Von D continued to live in the house for a while after that, it appears that the home ultimately fetched its current selling price.

For years to come, Kat Von D’s Los Angeles mansion, with its blood-red pool, will continue to serve as a symbol of the artist’s remarkable achievement in every area she pursued.
