Key Words: Arizona Rep. Gosar’s 6 siblings rewrite the script for negative ads (Spoiler: They’re for the other guy)

Even the tightest family relationships are complex, but this sibling split — six against one — and the stealthy way it’s revealed in a television spot this week by the rival of Republican Rep. Paul Gosar in an Arizona congressional race flipped negative political ads on their head.

‘Paul [Gosar] is absolutely not working for his district.’

The congressman is the oldest of 10 Gosar children.

Some of the siblings in the ad declare their brother, who was first elected in 2010, a “racist.”

Rep. Gosar, representing Arizona’s 4th district, made headlines in January when he asked the U.S. Capitol Police and Attorney General Jeff Sessions to check the IDs of everyone attending President Trump’s State of the Union address in order to arrest participants in the immigration DREAMers program or as the congressman said then, “any illegal aliens in attendance.”

Immigration reform is a popular issue in midterm races around the country.

Gosar also pinned the Unite the Right white supremacist rally last year in Charlottesville, Va., on billionaire George Soros and organized leftists, CNN has reported.

For sure, the sibling testimonials left plenty of Republicans and Democrats cringing, some simply over the awkwardness. A few celebrated the shrewdness of the ad’s “wow” moment. Others wondered yet again if ugly politicking has gone too far, this time at the orchestration of Gosar’s Democratic opponent David Brill’s campaign.
