Deep Dive: Here’s how all 30 Dow Jones Industrial Average stocks performed as the benchmark set another record

On a mixed day for U.S. stocks, the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit another new closing record Friday.

The Dow was up 0.3% on Friday and 2.3% for the week to close at 27,743.50 points.

The S&P 500 Index

SPX, -0.04%  was little changed Friday and up 3.4% for the week. The Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -0.51%  slipped 0.5% Friday but showed only a slight decline for the week.

Analysts continued to digest the flow of mainly positive economic data. The massive cuts in federal income taxes that President Trump signed into law in December have gotten a good deal of credit for excellent year-over-year comparisons of earnings and sales for U.S. companies. But according to an analysis done by the Leuthold Group, the tax cuts were only “icing on the cake” of an already robust economic expansion.
