The French market is quite subdued this morning, with investors looking for direction.
With no economic data due for release and the mood elsewhere in Europe rather cautious amid uncertainty about the near-term outlook for global markets, not many counters are witnessing any significant activity.
The benchmark CAC 40 index is down 4.50 points or 0.08 percent at 5,387.14. On Thursday, the index ended 0.21 percent up.
Among the gainers, shares of communications services company Orange are up 1.3 percent and retail major Carrefour is gaining 1.1 percent. Sodexo is up by about 1 percent.
Arcelor Mittal, Schneider Electric, BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole, Saint Gobain, Airbus Group, Lafarge Holcime and Vivendi are up 0.4 – 0.8 percent.
ST Microelectronics is declining 1.7 percent and Michelin is down 1.6 percent. Technip FMC, Valeo, Publicis Groupe, Danone, Renault, Safran and Sanofi are down 0.4 to 1 percent.
