Softbank has hammered out a “broad agreement” with Germany’s Deutsche Telekom ( DTEGY ) to merge their two U.S. wireless businesses, Sprint ( S ) and T-Mobile US ( TMUS ), said a Nikkei report.
The Nikkei report , however, had little new information. Similar to other reports, it said Softbank and Deutsche Telekom are focused on an all-stock deal that would give the German phone company a majority stake and management control over a combined Sprint-T-Mobile.
Analysts have expected a deal to be announced around earnings reports in late October.
